Denise Wilfley

Denise E. Wilfley, PhD, directs Washington University’s Weight Management and Eating Disorders Center. She is a professor of psychiatry of medicine of pediatrics and of psychology. Wilfley is the principal investigator of several studies of interventions designed to help overweight children lose weight, including the COMPASS (Comprehensive Maintenance Program to Achieve Sustained Success) study and an on-line intervention called Food for Thought. Both were put together to treat and prevent obesity in children. Wilfley also studies potential therapies for eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating.
