Collaboration through education: Bridging our classrooms, environment, and communities
Jeremy L. Pivor, undergrad in Arts & Sciences
Using the connecting classrooms model from UNICEF, Jeremy Pivor hopes to connect high school youth (ages 14-18) in St. Louis, Missouri, Andavadoaka, Madagascar, and Indonesia through an online platform to build international collaboration on environmental issues. Through using media such as blog posts, pictures and videos, youth in both the United States, Madagascar and Indonesia can share their local environment, exchange ideas on conservation projects and gain a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures. Building on these relationships, students in St. Louis will organize fundraisers to fund scholarships for youth in Madagascar and Indonesia in order to provide further educational opportunities.
