Leila Sadat teaches public international law, international criminal law and human rights and is considered one of the world’s leading experts on the International Criminal Court. She is also director of the Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute, which draws on a vast pool of international and national expertise to foster collaboration, continuous dialogue and exchange among scholars and practitioners engaged in international or comparative work.

Sadat is chair of the Crimes Against Humanity Initiative, a multi-year project to study the problem of crimes against humanity and develop a comprehensive convention on the prevention and punishment of crimes against humanity. She also was recently appointed as International Criminal Court Special Adviser on Crimes Against Humanity.
